Donald W Kress, MD is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in private practice for 30 years and a clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Penn State College of Medicine, the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. In addition to his busy cosmetic surgery practice in the DC suburbs, he’s been involved in research, written journal articles, book chapters, and appeared on both radio and TV. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of The American Society of Plastic Surgery, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Over the past 30 years, he saw shocking increases in the number of people suffering physically, psychologically, and financially from the ravages of bad Plastic Surgery. What was once a minor part of his practice grew to almost 20% of all his new patients. Taking care of these patients and listening to their stories, he came to realize that the real problem is knowledge. They had all tried to do research on their doctor and the procedures but without help, they were confused and mislead by all the misinformation and marketing hype.
Dr. Kress believes that his best legacy would be a way for people to educate themselves, enjoy the benefits of plastic surgery and avoid these injuries. To that end, he wrote a first-of-its-kind book titled, “Trust Me I’m A Plastic Surgeon”. The book contains straightforward information on how to really qualify a doctor and a facility. It explains the decision-making process and how unscrupulous offices and dishonest doctors can manipulate it. And, it contains detailed information about the procedures, what to expect and what can go wrong. It offers advice and guidance to those people who have already been injured, including how and when to seek help.
